Alyne H Singletary

February 28, 1920 - February 2, 2010

Services for Alyne H. Singletary will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 6, 2010 at
Northside Baptist Church, with the pastor Morris Nichols officiating. Interment will be at
Laurel Hill Cemetery. I recent years, failing health had taken her to live with her daughter
and son-in-law in Bryson City, NC. It was there that she died peacefully in her sleep on
February 2, 2010. She was born February 28, 1920 in Marianna, Florida to Everett and
Hardie Hill. On June 15 1941 she married her sweetheart, Wiley C. Singletary, Jr. He
preceded her in death on August 30, 2009. They made their home in Thomasville for
sixty-two years. Our family has lost the most loving, patient, and kind mother ever.
She truly loved her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren and their spouses. She was
a fill in mom for her children’s friends as well as others. Her home was always open for
everyone to ahre food and laughter. God has another angel with him. She is survived by
her loving family, daughters and sons-in-law, Jan Schaniel and Nick Grevalis of Carrollton,
GA, Betty and Charles Spray of Bryson City, NC, daughters-in-law, Jeanette Singletary of
Pensacola, FL, Carolyn Singletary of Thomasville, sister and brother-in-law, Nadine and Ben Joyner all of Thomasville, sisters,
Edith Hussey and Patricia Gable of Marianna, FL, grandchildren, Tance and Marla Singletary,
Rick and Kathy Lewis, Ryder and Beth Lewis, Tonny Collins, Johnny and Jennie Collins,
Jerry and Bruce Merritt, Brett and Tanja Singletary, Kristi and Sean Meadows, great grand-
children Jayce and Olivia Singletary, Brandon and Jaime Gonzales,Michelle Merritt, Tayla Lowe, Tyler Collins,
Asher and Piper Collins, Jessica Garcia, Elisha Abbott, Sage, Jade, Jude and Cade Lewis,
Mallory and Payten Singletary, Wilkes and Addie Meadows, great granddaughter Callie Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Ernest, Earl, and
Durwood,and James Hill, sister Annie Lou Hill, nephew Ben Joyner, Jr, and her beloved sons
Albie and Ronnie Singletary. The family is staying at the home of Ben and Nadine Joyner.
Visitation is Friday February 5, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
